The relief materials containing rice, lintel, oil, sugar, salt, tent and basic medicine distributed for 100 families in Thakre village of Dhading district is Nepal. This is one of the most affected villages in Dhading from devastating earthquake hit on 25th of April 2015 in Nepal.
The distribution of the relief materials was mainly targeted for socially excluded families from Dalits, Tamang and Chepang communities. Mainly women members came to collect these materials as their male members are migrated for labour work.
The recipients found from 8 years child to 86 years old lady including some people physically affected.
One of the recipients said she has even no place to keep those material due to destruction of her house and no one really takes care her in the family as well. Some people staying in mourning according to the Hindu culture and some others found severely wounded come themselves to collect materials.
It is also reported that 20 women in this particular community are traumatized and under stress due to earthquake and frequent tremors as they are facing a problem to restore their house and livelihood.
In Dhading district, over 700 people died, 1500 are severely injured and other thousands are directly affected including pregnant women, children and old age people. Massive loss of property, houses, animals and other infrastructures not only made villagers miserable but also difficult to replenish for their normal life.
Thanks to the consortium of different organizations, groups and individuals for making possible such a humanitarian assistant directly to the most affected families in the community.
